You have many options when it comes to selecting the ocean color of your globe. By choosing from the following stones you can achieve just the right look for your new globe. Blue Lapis, Black Jasper, Yellow Jasper, Mother-of-Pearl , as well as Howlite.

Manufacturing:

These beautiful gemstone globes are hand-crafted by skilled craftsman and artisan's who individually hand-carve each country to be placed on the globe, choosing among a large variety of semi-precious gemstones, carefully shaping and fitting each into its appointed spot. Each stone is placed on the surface of the globe to show the borders of countries, regions and continents. Once all the gemstones are inlayed, the entire sphere is coated with an acrylic finish to protect its delicate surface. The finished globe is carefully placed onto a pivoting ring, both sides of which are etched with latitude and longitude markings, and then the entire ensemble is fitted onto a base metal stand plated with fine gold. The entire process can take over 1000 hours to complete, producing a piece that's truly a dazzling work of art that will allow you to add a touch of charm and beauty to any room in your house or office. Every detail of these globes reveals the delicacy of materials used and the superior workmanship involved.

Caring for your Gemstone Globe:

Great care is taken to ensure each globe is shipped in excellent condition. Each is thoroughly inspected, polished, and cleaned prior to shipment. Minor cleaning should be all that is needed with our gemstone globes and accessories. Most often all that is needed is a light dusting with a soft cloth. We would recommend a jeweler's or lint-free cloth.

Caution: Chemical cleaners or polishes can damage the surface of the globe and stand.

Care for the Globe - If a more thorough cleaning is needed, a mild dishwashing detergent on a sponge or cloth with warm water (not hot) can be used on the globe surface. Rinse with fresh water on a sponge or cloth then dry with a lint-free towel or cloth. A soft cotton cloth dabbed with rubbing alcohol can also be used to shine and remove fingerprints on the globe only. Do not use rubbing alcohol on the stand as it is too harsh.

Care for the Stand - With a soft cotton cloth apply a small amount of hand lotion to remove finger prints. Use a clean dry soft cotton cloth to wipe away the hand lotion and shine.

Regular Maintenance - Normal dusting can be done with a Jeweler's Cloth.
